Softball Recap: Reed Wins Going Away Against Foothill

Reed had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Foothill on Thursday. The Reed Raiders were the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over the Foothill Falcons. Considering the Raiders have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kehaulani Tambaoan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Breanna Staats was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Elana Torres was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Reed hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in five consecutive matchups.

Reed's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Foothill, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-1.

Looking ahead, Reed will be taking part in a tournament against Trabuco Hills at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Reed's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Trabuco Hills' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Foothill, they will take on Douglas in a tournament on Friday.
