The Griswold/Wheeler Wolverines had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They breezed by Ledyard on the road to the tune of 49-20. The result was nothing new for Griswold/Wheeler, who have now won five matches by 24 points or more so far this season.
When it comes to explaining why Ledyard lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Adamick. Despite the final result, he rushed for 140 yards on only 15 carries.
Griswold/Wheeler's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Ledyard, they have fallen quite a ways from their 8-3 record last season and are now at 2-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Griswold/Wheeler will square off against Waterford at 6:00 p.m. on October 27th. Waterford is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Ledyard, they will head out on the road to face off against Bacon Academy at 12:00 p.m. on October 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Bacon Academy is ranked 115th, while Ledyard is ranked 124th).
