Bayonne has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Hoboken Redwings at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Thursday, Bayonne took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 61-20 victory over the Lions. The victory was just what Bayonne needed coming off of a 60-29 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Hoboken had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They put the hurt on American History with a sharp 70-46 win. Given Hoboken's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Bald Eagles are ranked 301st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bayonne is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Hoboken, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4.
Bayonne came up short against the Redwings in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, falling 59-53. Can Bayonne avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
