FRESNO, Calif. -
Washington Union (Fresno, Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat Yosemite (Oakhurst, Calif.), 42-9, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Landon Barberich touchdown pass to
William Blue in the first quarter, the Panthers led 28-3 at the half.
Washington Union expanded its lead to 33 points entering the fourth quarter. WU scored two times in the third, including once on a safety.
JavinHarrison Harrison was the top performer for the Fresno school. He ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
The Badgers' lone touchdown came on a 2-yard pass in the fourth quarter.
The Panthers had struggled this season, allowing 34.0 points per game. But Washington Union tightened up and held Yosemite right around its season average of 8.4 points per game.
WU also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 34-3.
In a North Sequoia game next week Washington Union (2-7) takes on Kerman, and Yosemite (0-9) will go up against Sierra also in a North Sequoia game.
