Softball Recap: Auburn Wins Going Away Against Bryant

Auburn got themselves on the board against Bryant on Saturday, but Bryant never followed suit. They blew past the Hurricanes 12-0. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Abigail Helms was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Daley Alsobrook, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Jada Esters was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Auburn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Auburn's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Bryant, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-14.

Looking ahead, Auburn will head out to take on Opelika at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Opelika will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Auburn surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bryant, they have already played their next matchup, a 13-0 loss against Fairhope on the 29th.
