Sandia is 9-1 against Eldorado since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Sandia Matadors will play host again and welcome the Eldorado Golden Eagles, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Sandia knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 matches -- so hopefully Eldorado likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Sandia faced Farmington in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sandia took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Farmington. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
The losing side was boosted by Thomas Adams, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zaire Ndyabagye, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Eldorado humbled Piedra Vista with a 70-29 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Eldorado has managed all season.
Sandia's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Eldorado, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
Sandia strolled past Eldorado in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 60-45. Will Sandia repeat their success, or does Eldorado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
