The Scotts Valley Falcons were the 66-44 winner over the Aptos Mariners when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Scotts Valley ended up on the wrong side of a tough 57-35 walloping at the hands of the Mariners on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Scotts Valley has scored all season.
It was another big night for Isaiah Ackerman, who scored 15 points along with four steals for Aptos. It was the first time this season that Ackerman grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Owen Warmerdam, who scored seven points along with two blocks.
Scotts Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Aptos, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7.
Scotts Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aptos, they will head out on the road to square off against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Lorenzo Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 911th, while the Mariners are ranked 280th).
