The Beaufort Eagles won the last time they faced the Battery Creek Dolphins, and things went their way on Friday too. Beaufort walked away with a 51-41 victory over Battery Creek.
Aj Newton had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Guerin Willis, who scored two points along with 13 rebounds.
Several Dolphins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan White, who scored seven points along with two steals. White continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Alizjah Mathis was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
The victory got Beaufort back to even at 9-9. As for Battery Creek, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
Beaufort will be playing in front of their home fans against North Charleston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Battery Creek, they will head out on the road to take on Hanahan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanahan is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
