Baseball Recap: Verrado Beats San Luis for Their Third Straight Win

Verrado entered their tilt with San Luis on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Sidewinders by a score of 12-9. The Vipers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Sidewinders, too.

Colton Zacher and Nolan Raissle were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Zacher tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off nine hits. Meanwhile, Raissle tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Zacher has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Zacher got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Raissle got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one triple and one run. That's the most runs Zacher has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Eli Bebleh was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Bode Acton was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Verrado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Luis only posted an OBP of .353.

Verrado's record now sits at 9-5-1. As for San Luis, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Coming up, Verrado will be playing in front of their home fans against North Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rattlers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.42 runs per game on average), something the Vipers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for San Luis, they will venture away from home to face off against Kofa at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
