Softball Recap: Windthorst Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Paradise, Windthorst was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Seymour Panthers as the Windthorst Trojans made off with a 10-0 win. Considering the Trojans have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Karissa Fillingim and Chloe Schroeder did most of the damage at the plate: Fillingim went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs, while Schroeder scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Schroeder has posted over her last 13 matchups. Charlee Wolf also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Windthorst was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seymour only posted a batting average of .231.

Windthorst's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10. As for Seymour, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Windthorst will have a chance to go back-to-back against Seymour: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
