The D'Evelyn Jaguars had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Englewood 79-44 on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as D'Evelyn also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
D'Evelyn's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robby Ziemian, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Vince Scaturro, who scored 7 points along with 9 assists and 9 rebounds.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonah Singer, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Dominic Dever, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals.
D'Evelyn's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Englewood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
D'Evelyn will be playing at home against Sierra at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Englewood, they will head out on the road to face off against Eagle Ridge Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
