Latta and Hannah-Pamplico are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Vikings will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Latta will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Carvers Bay on Friday. The Vikings blew past the Bears 13-3. Considering the Vikings have won three games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hannah-Pamplico). Everything went their way against Lake View on Friday as they made off with a 13-1 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Kadence Poston made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Meredith Stone was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Chloe Cooper was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Hannah-Pamplico kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
Latta is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Hannah-Pamplico, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
Latta beat Hannah-Pamplico 4-1 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
