The Smithville Seminoles lost against the Houlka Wildcats back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Smithville took a serious blow against the Wildcats, falling 81-47. Smithville has not had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Nehemiah Flemmings continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Houlka, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Neal Moore, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Smithville's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Houlka, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13.
Smithville will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tremont is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Houlka, they and the Cougars will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Pontotoc presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wildcats in Mississippi (the Cougars are ranked 58th, while the Wildcats are ranked 207th).
