Augusta is 3-0 against Bishop Seabury Academy since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Augusta Orioles will take on the Bishop Seabury Academy Seahawks at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Augusta scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Winfield 60-31 at home. The victory was just what Augusta needed coming off of a 63-19 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Bishop Seabury Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Bishop Ward by a score of 62-60. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Bishop Seabury Academy came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Bishop Ward is ranked 284th).
Chase Honarvar put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Honarvar is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Jace Smith was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Augusta's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-1.
Augusta was able to grind out a solid win over Bishop Seabury Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, winning 51-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Augusta since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
