It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Thomas Dale Knights had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Western Branch by a score of 31-22. The victory was just business as usual for Thomas Dale, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Nick Tyree continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 161 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Nj Hines, who rushed for 48 yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Thomas Dale's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Leading the way was Jonah Harris and his two sacks.
Thomas Dale has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.0 points per game. As for Western Branch, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Thomas Dale will look to defend their home field on Friday against Manchester at 7:00 p.m. Manchester will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. Western Branch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
