Basketball Recap: Weatherly Triumphs

After losing to Williams Valley the last time they met, Weatherly decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, Weatherly made off with a 76-75 win over Williams Valley.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Weatherly to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ian Mckeegan, who shot 47% from the field to rack up 27 points and four steals. Mckeegan has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last four times he's played. Corbin Wagner was another key player, going 8-for-18 on his way to 21 points.

Weatherly smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Weatherly pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.3 points over those games. As for Williams Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.
