The Open Door Christian Patriots will take on the Rittman Indians in a tournament on Wednesday. Open Door Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Rittman will be coming in after a loss.
Open Door Christian will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Clearview on Monday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Clippers with a sharp 15-5 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Patriots' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Julia Reaser made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up five earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five stolen bases, and four runs.
In other batting news, Lily Perris and Kaylee Thrasher did most of the damage at the plate: Perris got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Thrasher went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Thrasher a new career-high. Kaity Harsa was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Open Door Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clearview only posted a batting average of .190.
Meanwhile, Rittman came up short against Woodridge on Monday, falling 11-1. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rittman saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carly Frame, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Rittman's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Open Door Christian, they moved to 5-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Open Door Christian suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Rittman in their previous matchup back in April of 2015. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
