The East Chapel Hill Wildcats struggled with assists on Friday (the Carrboro Jaguars had 1100% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. East Chapel Hill fell 51-41 to Carrboro. East Chapel Hill lost against Carrboro in their previous head to head last Tuesday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 34-27 score last time.
Despite the loss, East Chapel Hill still got an impressive performance from Abigail Stone, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 10 rebounds. Stone scored a full 68.3% of East Chapel Hill's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Steiner, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals.
Leading Carrboro to victory were Julia Spang and Summer Lee. Spang scored 14 points along with 3 steals, while Lee dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Lee has scored at least 25% of Carrboro's points.
East Chapel Hill's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Carrboro, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
East Chapel Hill will head out on the road to face off against Orange at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carrboro, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Chapel Hill at 6:30 p.m.
