The Legend Titans pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 73-65 to ThunderRidge. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (56), Legend still had to take the loss.
Legend lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Seth Whitehead, who scored 18 points along with five steals. Whitehead has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Flowers, who scored 15 points.
ThunderRidge had a senior duo take command as Charlie Spann scored 24 points along with five rebounds and Andrew Crawford scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crawford has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tommy Wight, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Legend has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for ThunderRidge, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legend will challenge Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Heritage is ranked 66th, while Legend is ranked 41st). ThunderRidge on the road again on Tuesday and play against Highlands Ranch at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. One thing working in Highlands Ranch's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
