The East Ridge Knights suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 48-22 defeat at the hands of Leesburg. East Ridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.
Despite the defeat, East Ridge had strong showings from Tychelle Gordon, who scored five points along with six rebounds, and Neishaliz De Jesus, who scored a point.
Leesburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Saige McCloud out in front who scored 24 points. McCloud hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Aniya Hester was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
East Ridge has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Leesburg, their win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Ridge will take on Ridge Community at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ridge Community is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Leesburg, they will be playing at home against Lecanto at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
