South Pittsburg has struggled against Grundy County recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Carlee Smartt continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Grundy County, scoring 32 points. Those 32 points set a new season-high mark for her. Kallie Parson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
South Pittsburg now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Grundy County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
South Pittsburg will look to defend their home court on Monday against Bledsoe County at 6:00 p.m. Grundy County is on the road again on Friday and play against Forrest at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Forrest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 321st, while Grundy County is ranked 132nd).
