After three games on the road, Cypress Creek is heading back home. They will take on the Oak Ridge Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Oak Ridge took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Cypress Creek, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Cypress Creek beat Jones 53-47. Given Cypress Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Jones is ranked 489th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cypress Creek found their leader in underclassman Timberlyn Campbell, who scored 18 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Musu Sheriff, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Oak Ridge was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 53-49 to Central Pointe Christian Academy. Oak Ridge has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cypress Creek's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points per game. As for Oak Ridge, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Cypress Creek took a serious blow against Oak Ridge in their previous matchup back in December of 2020, falling 52-18. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cypress Creek was down 29-9.
