The Lapeer Lightning pushed their score all the way to 35 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 76-35 defeat at the hands of Davison. Lapeer was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-21.
It was another big night for Aj Hill, who rushed for 245 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per carry. Hill is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Glennie, who threw for 254 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Lapeer's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-4 Grand Blanc (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 77.5% over those games). As for Davison, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Lapeer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Davison has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Grand Blanc at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Grand Blanc is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
