Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hartington-Newcastle apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tyler Olson, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Olson is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Gibson Roberts, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hartington-Newcastle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brayden Lammers, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Heimes, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Hartington-Newcastle, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Wynot at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wynot and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Hartington-Newcastle, they will head out on the road to challenge Osmond/Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Hartington-Newcastle is ranked 203rd, while Osmond/Randolph is ranked 228th).
