Three Rivers recap Sept. 26, 2012
Tippecanoe Valley extended the longest winning streak in Three Rivers this week by beating Wabash, 45-0. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Vikings.
Northfield made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,851 from 11,383. The improvement was the result of 27-21 victory over Whitko last week.
Tippecanoe Valley's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ben Shriver threw for 149 and three touchdowns and Tanner Andrews had 99 yards receiving. On the ground Justin Gunter chipped in 34 yards. Gunter helped Tippecanoe Valley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 50 yards.
Tippecanoe Valley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Vikings feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Shriver has thrown for 825 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Andrews has 20 catches for 428 yards. Gunter leads the league in rushing with 306 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jeff Shriver's team takes on Rochester. As it stands, the Vikings are in first, while the Zebras are in third.
