Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Weddington Warriors walked away with it. They took their game at home on Saturday with ease, bagging a 56-21 victory over the Vikings. Weddington might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 11 matches by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Weddington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nick Diamond, who rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Diamond has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Budge, who threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns.
Weddington's victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.35 points. As for Hoggard, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-2.
Weddington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hoggard also has no future games currently scheduled.
