Community is 6-0 against Grundy County since January of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Community Vikings/Viqueens will head out on the road to face off against the Grundy County Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Community is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
On Thursday, Community didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Grundy County, but they still walked away with a 49-45 victory. The victory was just what Community needed coming off of a 48-22 defeat in their prior game.
Community found their leader in underclassman Alyssa White, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. White hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Yoes, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Community's victory bumped their record up to 9-16. As for Grundy County, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.
Community didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Grundy County in their previous matchup on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 49-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Community since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
