The Ridgedale Rockets will head out on the road to face off against the Bucyrus Redmen at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Bucyrus took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Ridgedale, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Ridgedale earned a 41-29 victory over Ridgemont. Given Ridgedale's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while Ridgemont is ranked 783rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Bucyrus' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. The match between Bucyrus and Colonel Crawford wasn't particularly close, with Bucyrus falling 49-31.
Bucyrus' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Brook Dennison, who scored seven points along with four steals, and Marissa Middleton who scored nine points along with four steals. Middleton is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Ridgedale has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Bucyrus, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-5.
Ridgedale took a serious blow against Bucyrus in their previous meeting back in January, falling 52-25. Can Ridgedale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
