The Valdosta Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 57-47 to Lowndes. Valdosta has struggled against Lowndes recently, as their match on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Valdosta's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nadia Gardner, who scored 17 points along with five steals. That was a full 36.2% of Valdosta's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Chasity Degale, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds.
Valdosta's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Lowndes, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Valdosta will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Colquitt County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lowndes will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Baldwin at 10:00 a.m. on January 15th. Baldwin has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 608 points over their last nine games.
