The Potlatch Loggers will head out on the road to face off against the St. Maries Lumberjacks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Potlatch is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Potlatch came up short against Genesee and fell 53-42.
St. Maries can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They skirted past Genesis Prep Academy 44-41. That looming 44-41 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for St. Maries yet this season.
St. Maries can attribute much of their success to Tayla Janssen, who scored eight points, and Sami Sindt, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Danika Sloper was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Potlatch's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for St. Maries, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.
Potlatch was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Maries in their previous matchup back in November, winning 47-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Potlatch since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
