The Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs extended their postseason success on Saturday against the Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons. Everything went their way against the Falcons as they made off with a 28-7 victory. The result was nothing new for Mount Dora Christian Academy, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mount Dora Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Cline, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Nathan Roach, who threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mount Dora Christian Academy's defense and their four sacks. Bryan Schutte was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
When it comes to explaining why Saint Stephen's Episcopal lost, one person who can't be blamed is Evan Brown. Despite the final result, he rushed for 184 yards while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Brown hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games.
The win was the fourth in a row for Mount Dora Christian Academy, bringing their record for this year to 6-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.8 points per game. As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3-1.
Mount Dora Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Saint Stephen's Episcopal also has no future games currently scheduled.
