The Hertford County Bears will be playing at home against the Manteo Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hertford County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Hertford County gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 64-31 victory over Bertie on the road. With Hertford County ahead 38-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Hertford County had a senior duo take command as Jaliyah Mitchell shot 4-for-6 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds and Adarielle Townsell dropped a triple-double on ten points, 14 rebounds, and ten assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mitchell has scored at least a third of Hertford County's points. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn White, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Manteo suffered a tough 53-28 loss at the hands of Northeastern on Friday. Manteo has not had much luck with Northeastern recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Hertford County is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Manteo, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
Hertford County took their victory against Manteo in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 63-41. Does Hertford County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Manteo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
