The Clinton Gaels extended their postseason success on Friday against the Rockland Bulldogs. They claimed a resounding 49-6 victory over the Bulldogs on the road. With Clinton ahead 28-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Clinton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Axel Ramos out in front who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Ramos is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Connor Cox also helped out as he racked up 105 rushing yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Clinton's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Cox and Ethan Frisch who racked up five sacks between them.
The win makes it two in a row for Clinton and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Rockland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
Clinton will challenge Uxbridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Uxbridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Clinton likes a good challenge. Rockland will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on East Bridgewater at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd.
