They took their game at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 79-37 win over Mt. Zion. The win was familiar territory for McDonough who now have four in a row.
McDonough's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keenan Gray, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The contest was Gray's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Greene, who scored 16 points along with six steals.
Despite the loss, Mt. Zion still got an impressive performance from Ja'Shy Mackey, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Jaki Bell, who scored seven points.
McDonough's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.31 points. As for Mt. Zion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.
McDonough will head out on the road to face off against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while McDonough is ranked ninth). As for Mt. Zion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Luella at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Luella is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
