In what's become a running theme this season, the Lee Park Prep Knights gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They put the hurt on Walnut Grove Christian with a sharp 66-46 victory. 66 seems to be a good number for Lee Park Prep as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Lee Park Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaac Watkins out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Watkins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole O' Donoghue, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds.
Walnut Grove Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Adam Smith, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Ben Heitzmann, who scored 11 points.
The victory was the third in a row for Lee Park Prep, bringing their record for this year to 14-4. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29 points. As for Walnut Grove Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.
Lee Park Prep won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Walnut Grove Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
