Norwayne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anna Metsker led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Ava Maibach was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Northwestern has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Norwayne, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwestern will square off against Waynedale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Waynedale will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Norwayne will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Triway at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Triway will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
