The Saguaro Sabercats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 25 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 67-42 margin over American Leadership Academy. Winning may never get old, but Saguaro sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Alexa Simpson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The matchup was her tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Mitchell, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Saguaro's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for American Leadership Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Saguaro will take on ThunderRidge in a holiday battle at 4:30 p.m. on Monday at. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (ThunderRidge is ranked 32nd in Colorado, while Saguaro is ranked 38th in Arizona). As for American Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Cienega at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Cienega focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
