Grace Swank made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Swank wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kensy Kimmell, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Kennedy Vice, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Rossville made easy work of Rochester on Tuesday and carried off a 9-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won 19 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Central Noble, Rossville also got a great game from a two-way player: Avery Layton. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Layton was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Autumn Paschal, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Addi Gorbett was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Rossville's victory bumped their record up to 23-5. As for Central Noble, their win bumped their record up to 24-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Central Noble has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Rossville struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
