The Williams Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Person Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Williams had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They secured a 49-44 W over Cedar Ridge.
Williams got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sam Rhodes out in front who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Williams, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Person's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 61-39 margin over Western Alamance. Person has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Williams' win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Person, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
Things could have been worse for Williams, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 74-56 loss to Person in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Williams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
