Long Beach Poly extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 13-4. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Carson Colts 9-7. This was payback for the Jackrabbits, who suffered a 6-5 loss the last time these two teams met.
Tegan Breaux spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Alayna Veavealagi was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Sunnie Vaafuti also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Long Beach Poly hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.
As for Carson, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since March 19th.
On Carson's side, they got a massive performance out of Ashannalee Titialii, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Titialii has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Atiana Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Long Beach Poly has already played their next matchup, a 12-2 win against Jordan on the 28th. As for Carson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 24-0 victory against Gardena on the 27th.
