South East hasn't had much luck against Roosevelt recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Jaguars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rough Riders at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
On Friday, South East made easy work of Huntington Park and carried off an 18-1 win. The game marked the Jaguars' most dominant victory of the season.

Iliana Dominguez made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, South East got a massive performance out of Giselle Flores, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ruby Gonzalez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
South East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Roosevelt won against Bell on Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Rough Riders didn't even let Hamilton on the board, marking the Rough Riders' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for the Rough Riders, who have now won three contests in a row.
The victory made it two in a row for South East and bumps their season record up to 5-9. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.5 runs over those games. As for Roosevelt, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.
South East suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Roosevelt when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
