Grove City Christian can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 62-27 win over Millersport. Given Grove City Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Lakers are ranked 792nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grove City Christian had a senior duo take command as Seth Vaughn scored 18 points along with five rebounds and Caleb Ransom scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Vaughn has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadunn Harris, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Miller pushed their score all the way to 69 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 77-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Rosecrans. Miller has struggled against the Bishops recently, as their match on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Miller's defeat came about despite a quality game from Logan Doughty, who scored 23 points along with three steals. Doughty has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Perry, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Miller were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Rosecrans only racked up 11 assists.
Grove City Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Miller, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Grove City Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Miller struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
