Booker is 5-0 against Bayshore since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Booker Tornadoes' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bayshore Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Booker was able to grind out a solid victory over Venice, taking the game 61-48. 61 seems to be a good number for Booker as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
It was another big night for Jovan Palavra, who scored 19 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamareon Ruffin, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Bayshore over Sarasota Military Academy in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Bayshore blew Sarasota Military Academy out of the water with a 75-35 final score. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Bayshore has posted yet this season.
William Strawbridge was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. His trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Demetrios Kimon was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.
Booker now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Bayshore, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11.
Everything came up roses for Booker against Bayshore when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 65-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Booker since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
