The biggest upset of the week belonged to Holtville, who took down 731st ranked Calipatria, 35-19. Steven Drye threw for 53 yards and ran for 182 yards in the win.
The Vikings moved up to 735 from 773 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Manzanita. Holtville climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Hornets 35-19.
Spencer George and Spencer George gave Foothills Christian a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. George threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns, while George ran for 222 yards. Teammate Kyle Moberg added to the ground attack by rushing for 88 yards.
Jacob Whannel was the best wideout in the league this week as Calipatria lost to Keith Smith Jr.'s team. Whannel tallied six receptions for 96 yards. Richard Castellon helped Calipatria's passing attack out by catching four balls for 53 yards.
Calipatria's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Evan Franklin has thrown for 1040 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Whannel has 46 catches for 686 yards. Michael Medina leads the league in rushing with 1053 yards.
Mountain Empire extended the longest winning streak in Manzanita this week by beating the Knights, 66-40. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
