The Swansea Tigers lost against the Gilbert Indians back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Swansea took a serious blow against Gilbert, falling 58-31.
Gilbert's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ahleira Leaphart led the charge by scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Leaphart hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Blythe Price, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Swansea has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Gilbert, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-9.
Swansea does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gilbert, they will head out on the road to square off against Crestwood at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Crestwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six last Tuesday.
