The Sweet Springs Greyhounds were the 58-49 winner over the Tipton Cardinals when they last played one another back in February of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The New Year welcomed Sweet Springs with a 75-40 whooping from Tipton on Thursday. Sweet Springs was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-18.
Zach Moon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tipton, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Lucas Cashman, who scored 13 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Sweet Springs bumped their record down to 3-8 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Tipton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sweet Springs will take on Oak Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Oak Grove is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Tipton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lexington at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th.
