Catholic Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Elmira Express at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Catholic Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,075 points over their last 14 matches.
Last Saturday, Catholic Central didn't have too much trouble with Lansingburgh at home as they won 70-53. Given Catholic Central's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Lansingburgh is ranked 76th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Darien Moore, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavjon Arroyo, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Elmira had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-42 victory over Horseheads.
Catholic Central's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.6 points per game. As for Elmira, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
