The Liberty Patriots had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. They came out on top against Mojave by a score of 61-52.
Liberty found their leader in underclassman Tyler Bright, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bright has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaden Riley, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Mojave lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being C.J. Shaw, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Shaw is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Nathan Sherrard was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
Liberty's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Mojave, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.
Liberty will look to defend their home court on Monday against Coronado at 6:30 p.m. Coronado has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,713 points over their last 24 contests. As for Mojave, they will head out on the road to challenge Centennial at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Centennial is ranked 15th, while Mojave is ranked 11th).
