The Maud Cardinals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 40-29 to Rivercrest. Maud has not had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Maud's loss came despite strong showings from Mallorie Bishop and Brooklyn Osborne. Bishop scored 14 points, while Osborne scored eight points. That was a full 48.3% of Maud's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Anna Duvall continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rivercrest, scoring 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Duvall has scored at least a third of Rivercrest's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Jean, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Maud has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Rivercrest, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-19.
Maud will take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rivercrest, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m.
