A feisty cat fight will be fought as Apex Cougars challenge Millbrook Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Apex comes in on four and Millbrook on five.
Apex is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Cary on Monday as Apex made off with an 8-1 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Cougars have posted against the Imps since March 9, 2018.

JUSTIN DAVIS
03/10/25 vs Cary | 11 |
03/04/25 @ Green Level | 6 |
02/24/25 @ Athens Drive | 7 |
JUSTIN DAVIS spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on AYDEN FOGG, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was CROSBY HOLMES, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Millbrook had just enough and edged out Orange 3-1 on Friday.
Finn Clougherty was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Smith Dickinson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Apex pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Millbrook, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Apex has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Millbrook struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Apex couldn't quite finish off Millbrook in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 5-3. Will Apex have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
